I was using the Internet before it went public -- when it was the pre-commercial domain of the government Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). And I remain an early adopter of the latest digital communications technology.
I’ve managed hundreds of employee events for CEOs, business unit Presidents, and Vice President/ GMs – live town halls to tens of thousands of participants globally, involving streaming video feeds to major sites, interactive webcasts, telepresence, and video and audio podcasts.
My hands-on web experience encompasses HTML-coded newsletters, content management systems, search engine optimization, and re-design of intranet sites and portals to support a shift from push communications to pull.
I was advisor on a client’s intranet overhaul project to shift from Obtree to Sharepoint, and have been an early adopter of blogs, wikis, RSS, other new media, and projects to incorporate virtual worlds such as Second Life into a business e-collaboration environment.
I am currently driving a major upgrade effort for the Halldale Media Group website.
And for a professional golfer friend, I completely rebuilt his public website after the previous content manager’s system had been hacked and corrupted.
